Venezuela Currency, what comes next?
Lots of people are talking about oil companies and oil infrastructure companies like CVX, XOM, COP and HAL. We saw some relatively large moves on Friday from these companies potentially foreshadowing the beginning of the Venezuelan Op over the weekend. Potentially more movements to come as the market prices in more US involvement in their oil industry. One trade that is not so obvious and I’m not sure has been considered is Venezuelan currency. With the oil fields opening up and US investment moving in there is going to be a huge increase in the velocity of money. Wages need to be paid, materials need to be purchased etc. How do you think this will be paid for? Bolivar, USD, Stable Coins, Crypto, Ornamental Gourds, Other? You could kind of make a case for any of them
