They last for next 3 years at least. They will keep using new laws to extend them constantly. Tariffs are not banned, only that particular law that was used to enforce them.

Okay but then under that logic we got the most bearish signal from the mixed messaging that the chaos would continue with set after set of taxes each referencing a different law, at different rates, and getting dealt with in court slowly. The message im getting is not that we’re done with blanket tariffs. It’s that we’re done with blanket tariffs under the law previously used to justify them. We still have embargos and tariffs from other laws on the table. The random policy has not stopped, it’s escalated.

SCROTUS said one specific way he was doing tarfs, using one specific law, was unconstitutional. There are at least 3 other laws on the books he has been using or can use for other tarfs. Those laws have more limitations though, like how much, and in what situations, and for how long he can have tarfs.

It's the maximum he is allowed under law. It's way less than the reciprocal tariffs be had on most countries. All of those are gone if they were over 15%. Some industry specific tariffs can stay for now, but most of those will likely be rendered invalid by the courts. Tariffs just went way, way down and he is powerless to raise them above 15%

Thats not the point lmao. SCOTUS wasnt designed to have a law enforcement branch incase the executive went nuts and refused their authority. If anything that force is supposed to be the people. We all had a social contract to uphold the constitution, right? The military took an oath to the constitution. They made us say the pledge of allegeance every day in school for 18 years and pledge allegiance to the republic...with liberty and justice for all? Feels like bullshit now. All the soldiers that died for this country died for this? For everything to unravel? We dont just live great lives by coincidence, our forefathers set up this system that we all respected and revered. Just saying "ok yeah I broke the rules but what are you actually going to do to stop me" means its completely broken and were now just relying on physical force to hold everything together.

My partner’s friend’s husband just got busted. I had no idea he traded. He lost hundreds of thousands and is a few Bennie’s in debt. “I’m gonna make it back with just one big score. I just need a smaller score than the right trades. I’ll just borrow money, law of averages.” Years of past and future savings gone. Addiction, that’s how. PS: if you’re ever down 25-50%. Stop. Take a fucking walk and chill.
