I'm kinda mad WDC didn't get the same love as STX and SNDK because usually STX and WDC go in tandem

I have a feeling MU wins memory, STX wins HDD, and SNDK wins SSD, so I'm guessing WDC might lag behind the others, but still go up in 2026

Yes, the entire storage solutions sectors are literally just STX, WDC and SNDK. You don't see any "new startup" because the aforementioned 3 hold pretty much all the storage solution IPs. The only reason SNDK is receiving more attention is because their market cap were sub 5b at that point when they announced collab with WDC and STX to help fulfill the storage memory demand. Wall St and retail mania set in then rest was history.

Is WDC a valid move? They are valued at half of SNDK with similar revenue.

WDC and STX will moon for their earnings anyway, SNDK only got tapped and mooned starting from Aug 2025 because the aforementioned 2 have backlogs up their ass till 2030. They had to ask SNDK for help to make SSDs with their brand slapped on it(see those new collab enterprise and consumer grade WDC/STX SSDs powered by SNDK)

STX and WDC have backlogs till 2030, so SNDK finally got tapped as last resort back in August even though their only lineup benefitting from the storage solution demand is their mid range SSDs

and just like that hundreds of thousands of dollars goes up in smoke on WDC calls.
