Don't under-estimate the scale of Yen Carry Trade Unwinding, which is several trillion USD. Federal Reserve's pathetic 40 billion per month QE, isn't enough to say the least.

Most people would still want 1 million USD over their local currency. This is why America rules. BRICS is a joke.

It raises interest rates for those that borrow yen and convert it into USD to invest, so they will derisk slightly to make up for the increased rates. This won't unwind the trade but each addiional future hike will have more and more significant effects. Not the be all end all though btw and usually after the hike stuff actually goes up, dumps in the lead up. So far bitcoin has been hit the hardest by the headline.

500k USD seems reasonable. What that will buy in real goods is another question tho

Before the world was playing the same game as the US. Now, inflation is hitting even Japan so they are trying to tighten and hike. ECB is fully letting their balance sheet run off with QT and balancing their budgets. There's only one conclusion. Stocks way up, dollars down. Those holding USD or bonds will be left holding the bag.

What do you mean by the underlying assets being in USD? The underlying assets are companies which presumably sell goods and services. My point is that stocks track inflation. Thus if you hold stocks, you are mostly shielded from inflation.
