I meant it more of a flows issue. international investors own a huge % of USD denominated assets, in part because of the structure of the intl trade system. We buy goods on deficit, and send dollars. They send the dollars back and buy USD denominated assets. Or they use to. Gold is taking up more of the incremental flows there. if they feel the prospects for those assets or our currency are impaired, they will dump and the flows that have theoretically artificially inflated our asset prices will reverse. it's clear that investing in international markets & in non US currencies is making a big comeback, perhaps generationally

no. international investors own disproportionately large amounts of USD based assets. if USD continues to decline, they lose on currency as well as any returns / loss on their USD denominated assets. gold in particular will continue to rise so long as there are disruptions to status quo internationally

Hey guys so I'm unemployed rn and live with my parents cause I can't find a job but I realized that even if I don't work, I should still have a decent amount of money to rely on since my parents said they'll leave me the house with no mortgage(worth 700k usd) and I don't want to get married so all the money to me. Right now I'm in my 20's and saved up some money from my previous job when I had one and been using that money to trade for my monthly expenses like eating out, phone bill and stuff. Honestly if I play my cards right, with what I have saved up, I could probably make that into 500k by the time I retire + I got house money. At that point I can probably downsize into something smaller and use rest to trade.

Zero point in owning US assets if you're not american at this point. All government policy is focused on making the dollar weaker and they will eventually succeed. If you're not USD based you need to stay away and if you are USD based you get a free hit by buying foreign assets.

You either short it in the very short term and get lucky at being right, or you are fucked in a couple of weeks when the trend line catches up to the price and sets a solid floor.
