You're getting about 75% of the USD value in GBP. Hence why I said earlier that your gains in US positions need to be good to make it worth while in current market. Plus you'd still need to keep an eye on the FX exchange. If the USD weakens further....you'll need bigger gains to compensate.

USD is getting weaker. Number of factors. Risky positions by institutions and getting bailouts by the FED. Printing more money to prop market / bailout devalues the USD further as more money in circulation. The yen carry trade is no longer free money when their yield spikes, forcing USD positions to be sold to pay back the money. Geopolitical tensions...other countries selling US bonds and mammoth debt all = concern and less faith by other nations. The only way it's still viable at present is if your position has a substantial gain. If it's only a few % and you sell your position....its no longer viable with FX exchange

As a foreign investor USD falling really hurts

The reason why gold and silver are rallying so hard today is because the USD is falling. The USD is falling because Japan is mass selling US treasury bonds for dollars, then selling the dollars to buy Euros. The Japanese PM does not want to lose the election in the next couple of weeks because of the sliding yen so this will continue until Feb 6.
