Today was decent. I bought two puts on SLV near the beginning of the day, waited until it dumped around 2, waited tor the rebound and proceeded to flip them into calls, and put the profit into another SPHD share. Still sitting on my 2028 long puts, but depending on how tomorrow plays out, I'll either sell the calls and roll upwards, or I'll sell an ATM wednesday CSP.

First and foremost I have a small position on SLV, sold 2 cash secured puts that I’m holding at a loss for, not too worried about it. Holding a few hundred shares of IAU Now for the discussion: If someone were to make a play on oil with a levered return on oil, NOT playing futures what’s the next best thing? My thesis as to why this could be a lucrative play: literally any global conflict at all, consistent growth in energy demand wether it be for ai, industrialization in the US, war, and just the fact that even the saudis could benefit from a higher than current oil price. Feel free to tell me why this is a bad idea, with reasons, or why you’ll be joining me. A few years ago I was on the fence with buying XOM but that’s long in the past. Don’t know if American energy will be lucrative until the dollar sinks much much further down, sunk enough to be worth about half of what the euro is worth. From my very limited understanding of the energy industry in terms of trade, the dollar is the limiting factor as to why it may be a bad idea in the short term to play with American energy but I digress. All I know is the US is spending more money on paying back interest than funding the notorious military industrial complex, which may be indicative of commodities as a whole rising against the dollar which I earn and transact in. Just another regard just spitballing about energy looking to outsource some of the brainstorming to the hive mind.
