i don't think it will shoot back up to ATH any time soon. By 2027 or 2028 it should recover though. Probably won't perform better than just qqq though.

Could build up an etf portfolio (spy, qqq, a bit of gold, world ex-usa, some dividend etf, just ask on an investing sub) with some of the money and use the rest to play medium term options. 0dtes i would avoid unless you feel it in your bones a stock will dump/rally that day. (And you know when to get out on theta days) So like get started on a 'retirement plan' etf core (also has tax benefits if you don't touch it til retirement) and with the rest buy micron/nvidia/google/qqq/silver/miner leaps to increase the risk/reward without going full degenerate gambler. There are also leveraged etfs which behave a bit like leaps but the volatility dacay eats into them just as much if not more. No premium though, can just jump in and out. The biggest degenerate play would be calls/puts on leveraged etfs for the most stupid leveraged-to-the-tits play. (Don't do that)

We aren't really in an ai bubble. Investors have already preemtively diversified to so many other, more value somewhat defensive asset classes, that an ai bubble pop scenario wouldn't hurt them much. All it would do is nuke qqq and maybe a 15% drop in spy that will get undone in a few months.

So what should one do? I guess spy/qqq ath may only mean being in the red for like 6 months if you're moderately unlucky. Buying individual stock ath is a recipe for a 30% drop even on nvidia.

On an index like qqq it's very common to have dips that wipe out one or more months of growth. This year there were a few periods where that didn't happen but i highly doubt that will continue. And when it breaks out it will inevitably come crashing down. Timing it still doesn't work otherwise the algos would make infinite money, but timing it so that you are perfectly unlucky and cut your gains in half is incredibly easy somehow.

Theres a chance spy and qqq dont move at all next week. Theres just so much free money in selling naked. Like today the puts at 681 were going for 60 bucks with only 30 mins left and they werent even in the money..

IMO options on the leveraged ETFs is not appreciably better than equivalent options on the underlying, because the leveraged ETFs are themselves made up of options & futures. For instance, for the January expiry, the ATM strike for QQQ has an IV of 14.6%, but the ATM strike for TQQQ has an IV of 46%. Essentially, about a little less than four of the delta-50 contracts of TQQQ are functionally equivalent to one delta-50 contract of QQQ, and this is including the 3x multiplier, per dollar at risk. So then, instead of buying 4 contracts of TQQQ, buying one contract of QQQ (at the same delta) results in the same 3x return per dollar at risk.
