For everyone curious ab POET: Pre-rev company that just took its first purchase order (500k), with more on the way. Interesting stuff happening like locating next to nvidia, CEO connections, rapid hiring, moving manufacturing plant, partnerships, manufacturing contracts, and other things make people think $$$$$$$. POET makes optical chips for GPU connections in data centers. Light faster than copper wires, which means thousands of GPUs can talk to each other super fast and for cheap since light>copper. everyone forgets AI costs power and heat which = $$$$$. Not reinventing stuff like other companies, so big boys like it bc they can keep good brands parts for less money to run. Can use for lasers and GPUs and all sorts of stuff. $75mil investment was a surprise (timing also sketchy considering OpenAI & AMD). Stock originally likely to hit $12-15 EOY when orders come in. Now, if big player gave the money (we find out Oct 12), then might very well hit $30 or something ridiculous.

people investing in POET are forgetting one of the most important aspects to optical transmission: security. Light can be air-gapped in ways that copper cannot. This aspect is on par with energy costs in my mind, and why I do believe that fiber optics and photonics will be necessary for these data centers.
