The key to success in *anything* is practice. The lesson is just a lesson - rather it be a tennis lesson on the court, a martial arts lesson in the dojo, a class lecture in the classroom, etc.. It's what you do to practice the lesson on your own time that defines success. It's the same as when my employees don't grow because they "didn't experience that at work". Well no shit. We only do so many things on the job. It's up to them (and me) to learn on our own time to build knowledge & experience.
