If you were a rookie in the last 3 months, you got destroyed late Oct to November late. Why? Bc Earnings were great but they all crashed anyway. Rookies like tech for obvious reasons. Tech got slammed. Big key: most significant  crashes were after hours with low volume. If they were in margin accounts, out of day trades, they got destroyed in November.

The risk of human CEOs

reddit_post
📉 Negative (-0.88)
0 6 EN u/404AuthorityNotFound r/wallstreetbets

Resentment over AI driven job losses can push public anger toward the most visible tech CEOs, creating a perceived risk of sudden leadership disruption. Markets have seen how fragile sentiment becomes during these shocks. When the UnitedHealth CEO died unexpectedly, the stock experienced immediate volatility before stabilizing as investors reassessed organizational depth. In an AI backlash, that same dynamic can be amplified because the leaders are already lightning rods for national frustration. The trade is not about the event itself but about markets overpricing or underpricing key person risk. Personality-driven AI firms may see valuation pressure as investors handicap the chance of abrupt leadership loss, while companies with strong internal benches and less dependence on a single figure become relative safe havens.

>"Job data surges" refer to significant upticks in job openings or hiring activity, like the recent jump in U.S. openings to 7.67 million in October 2025, following a big September rise, signaling strong labor demand despite overall market shifts, with key sectors like trade/transportation seeing gains and professional services slowing, highlighting an evolving but resilient labor market.

And it completely was. That was one of my key takeaways, and quite honestly the main driver of the losses my portfolio has seen this year. Ive been wrong and right plenty of times, but I think the amount of money leveraged in any 1 direction that ive chosen has been the underlying issue. That being said, I still dont like the way ive been trading this past year and still think a system needs to be developed, as loosely or strictly by definition as it may happen. I think my risk tolerance is a little more than necessary, but id like to apply it better. One fallback ive been leaning on is selling csp on stock id like to own long term. The fallback being, if shit hits the fan and all else fails, I know im comfortable just parking that money in the shares of the stock im selling contracts against for however long that may be.

California has rapidly enacted several key AI laws in 2024-2025, focusing on transparency for frontier models (SB 53), election content labeling, employment bias testing (FEHA rules), data provenance, and chatbot safety (SB 243), making it a major US AI policy leader by regulating developers and deployment for risk mitigation, voter protection, and ethical use in workplaces. These laws create a patchwork of state-level rules, impacting everything from data disclosure to mandatory human oversight and accountability for AI's societal impacts. This is why there needs to be national regulations.

$CVNA liquidity crisis tomorrow

reddit_post
📈 Positive (0.97)

I posted this on Friday predicting SP inclusion, but the mods deleted it. Anyway… I’ve been studying/trading Carvana for many years. The key to survival has been understanding that the CVNA CEO and his father (who owns nearly 40% of the diluted share count an sits at #42 in the Forbes list) are evil, but extremely clever. They have manipulated both the share price as well as the company’s financials by controlling the float and establishing 4 quarters of profitability via related party transactions. Their end goal was always SP inclusion, which now creates continuous liquidity to turn back on the 10b5-1 trading plan and unload on passive buyers. Due to the conditions that enabled the above, this ain’t a gap up, it’s a supply crisis. Institutions currently own 90-95% of the tradeable float. The actual loose float available is only 10-15 million shares. Tomorrow morning three big buyers are hitting a wall of zero supply: - Short interest is still ~12M shares. Many are facing a margin call at the open and must buy to cover. - MM were selling calls all week on the rumor. With the AH gap to $440, thousands of Dec 19 contracts just went Deep ITM. MM need to buy 2.5M - 3M shares to stay delta neutral. - The SP500 index funds need to buy roughly 16 million shares (approx. $7B) by Dec 19. They can't buy yet, so arb desks will be buying Monday to warehousefor them. The level of greed is on mars right now because every trading desk is aware of the mechanics and liquidity crunch. Institutions are holding because they know indexes will pay whatever it takes on Dec 18. Buying demand far outweighs supply. It’s hard to say how exactly this plays out, but this is stock is crazy and this event is extremely unique. If I had to guess, CVNA gaps up 15%+ and has the potential to rip higher. I’m expecting a high in the 470-500 range. Absurd, I know, but this is the grand finale of one of the greatest marker manipulations in history. It’ll be fun to watch tomorrow.

Press reports suggest that Reddit is proposing a new kind of partnership with Google and OpenAI that would encourage users to become active contributors to Reddit’s popular online forums. The report also noted that Reddit may be looking for a future deal structure that could allow for dynamic pricing, where Reddit can be paid more as it becomes more vital to AI answers. Opportunity for more favorable deals with AI partners a key component of the Bull case thesis on Reddit. I would expect a new Google deal in 2H’26, as the original deal ends in 1Q’27

The one good thing I'll say about CVNA is that they actually make selling your shitty car pretty easy. Competitors require you to show registration. CVNA? Nope. Just give me the key fob. Competitors require you to perform a full test drive. CVNA? Nope. Just give me the key fob. Yeah they won't pay you market value, but they give you cash and flip the lemon. They are making money, and that's all anyone cares about. That being said, would I buy calls? Nope.

Thanks, key for me I think is knowing your strategy and keeping risk as low as possible.  Actually, I did ACHR and NFLX yesterday as the first I ever did while being somewhat confident in what I was doing. I still sold ACHR early and missed out on the much higher run up but I made something- had the 9SP for 12/31 and wasnt expecting it to hit and beyond on day 1 so to play it safe I pulled out early with profits though. NFLX 112p 1/16 exp yesterday same but that was trickier because it dropped later in the day so I was right to not risk it and just make a few, but it taught me a lot about what can happen had I kept it in and not secured a little profit. If and when I do them, Im going for day trading first with the option to hold if Im real bullish. I realized today not to hold over the weekends for now even if bullish, it would suck to wake up Sunday or Monday and be deep red and worried about it.  Its definitely something I would only do if extremely bullish or see a great opportunity on a good pick. But when I didn't know what I was doing with them when I started I would get crushed and have so many regrets, probably holding too long too, for one.
