Wow. Bought a SLV call on Monday, and felt bad selling it for 40% profit, only to see SLV jump up a couple more dollars. Now I'm pretty glad I sold. GLD in the other hand... I have longer dates call, but still sucks to see it flop these last two days.

I was short 7000 on Friday and panicked into close. So u feel ya. Also had 1000 short gld, and 1000 short gdx and paas each. Would have been a 60k play instead I lost 6k.

If you buy calls or puts on slv or gld you will on average lose a lot of money. Buying metal near melt or below is the safest long term play.

The pullback appears to be over & the metals market is beginning to move up out of the correction it has been in all year.Melt-up will follow. Silver looks particularly good here. GLD to 600 & SLV to 150 Gold Miners were hit hard in the pullback but poised for a run to $130.

Oh yeah forgot about that. I don't mess with anything under a month, unless I plan on selling very soon. For example, I bought an ATM SLV 01/30 call. The rest of my GLD calls are kind of laddered at Feb March, and May. Not sure why I skipped April. On well. Dont get me wrong. Definitely have lost mkneh on bad calls, like APLD when it was around 12 and BITF, but I had less than 10% of my holdings in them, so I it didn't sting too bad.

I learned a valuable lesson without any losses. Don't trade outside of your risk tolerance because of revenge trading or FOMO. I was sad about selling my previous GLD calls at 400 before the spike to 415. I sold for as well it 200% profit, so I made a bit. But seeing it down so quickly made me realize that I could have easily lost all that money too. I bought back in at the bottom, but now I don't feel so bad for not risking more money before. Full disclaimer, I did buy more golf and silver calls, but only used about 30%nofy available capital. If it dips more, I'll buy more.
