My number is 2M an here’s how I’ll be allocated when I hit that: 5% speculative, 15% leveraged SPY (UPRO or similar), 50% hedge (TLT, KMLM, GLD, Cash), and 30% VOO. I want leveraged index exposure but limited downside when I get where I can fuck the hell off. I ramp it in linearly as my port grows. Even if I allocated 20% to UPRO and 80% to hedge, I’d still be getting effectively 60% index exposure with only 16% realistic drawdown in an environment where SPY falls 30% and UPRO drops 90%. With a likely bump from my hedges in almost any flash-crash to replenish UPRO in a rebalance and ride the recovery. I have it all automated with VBA so every cash addition I know exactly how many shares to buy of what to keep with the plan.
