Blackstone asking people for money to pay for withdrawals lol. From Bloomberg: > To help weather the withdrawals, the firm turned to old-fashioned door knocking — internally. > The end result: More than 25 senior leaders from across Blackstone — many from its credit business — pitched in some $150 million to the Blackstone Private Credit Fund, according to people familiar with the matter. Combined with $250 million of the firm’s own capital, that helped cover a record redemption request of roughly $3.8 billion, or equivalent to around 7.9% of net assets

I think them just being denominated in euros/pounds won't protect you if the underlying is still mostly US stocks. You would need actively currency hedged funds which embed a usd short position. (Not 100% sure but i looked into your idea a bit too. Spy is still more or less flat (in euro terms) since january of last year due to the 10% usd drop, even if the spy fund is ucits denominated in euro. But 'euro hedged' funds are up big.)

They actually literally have a 70 billion dollar government fund that they use to buy crashes like this which they deployed today, as well as a history of employing industry subsidies and safeguards during energy cost increases. SK hynix and Samsung are both flat/green right now as a direct result. They have the greatest plunge protection team the world has ever known, but 30% of their market is owned by foreign institutionals who are mass panic selling right now

Conference went well, basically confirmed that they won't have any supply disruptions and that things are fine, they are also considering beginning the process of returning money to shareholders. Unfortunately kospi is continuing its crash today, hit circuit breakers second day in a row. Korean intervention fund is propping up samsung and sk hynix to stop them from going red so hopefully we don't get sold off along with them in the algo memory basket dump like we yesterday.

You're thinking of like fund managers. Most investors buy and hold etfs in their 401k on a long term basis and have no idea what an option is or have access to one. If they did buy options every night during a bear market it would probably eat away all their gains or end up in a loss even. This also isn't even a bear market, its 4% from an ath.

Public index funds like VTI and SPY that are mostly held by regular people in their retirement accounts are relatively flat. Meanwhile, private funds that are mostly held by rich Wall Street types are a completely different story: > Big Lenders’ Risky Loans Are Rattling Wall Street > Lending troubles at Blue Owl Capital and other so-called private credit behemoths are setting off fears of a “bank run,” as one hedge fund put it. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/03/03/business/private-credit-crisis-blue-owl-capital.html > Blackstone’s Gray: Market ‘noise’ fueled record redemptions from world’s largest private credit fund > Blackstone president Jon Gray defended the quality of loans within the firm’s flagship private credit fund after investors as concerns in the sector are growing. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/03/03/blackstone-private-credit-fund.html

Look at every energy/ defense stock that should be up right now and you will see an uptick in short sales today. The hedge funds are shorting the shit out of all the "winners" to fund the buying and buying of the Mag7 that they are over leveraged in to avoid margin calls which keeps the prices up on those. This is going to be bloody as fuck in a few days when they can't keep up and eventually tech will dump ass and energy/ defense will rocket out of the artificial cage.

Quick history about the stock market and war. > “The outbreak of World War II in September 1939 initially hit British stocks, but by March 1940 they were the highest in a year, according to data from fund manager Winton Group. Investors missed that the Nazis would overrun continental Europe and destroy much of British industry in air raids, and that the U.K. would lose its empire. Stock prices plunged when France fell.” In other words, market isn’t that forward looking
