No. Emergency fund should be as big as you can make it. I work in tech where layoffs are rampant and 12 months emergency savings works great for me. Obviously it depends on your income but I think 4-6 months is a bit low given how unpredictable life can be.

Come on bro.. there is no fund in the world that will guarantees any return except money market funds. Unless they will pay you 7% of the value of your investment - that could be a combination of capital gains/options income and some of your own return of capital.
