If I were a billionaire or global financial institution and was tipped on the timing of a strike on Iran, and the prospect of another regional or world war, one thing I'd do is sell my USA-listed silver and coin ETFs and buy physical. I might let this process of large fund outflows spiral out and crash the market to bring the whole market (physical and paper) down, for an incredible buy opportunity. And I might have my futures or arbitrage strategies ready to go for an event like that. An event like that could most certainly tank the wider market, cause a relief bounce in the USD for a couple days, and tank all growth or alternative energy sectors.
