Well if you want to compare ASTS to POET (i don't own either one right now), the projected EPS of ASTS in 2027 is 2.44 (forward P/E 44) vs POET's 0.2 (forward P/E 415). I've been in and out of POET for 2 years, much longer than anyone here has heard of them. Its a good (maybe great) stock in the long run, but for the next year or so its a stock to trade, now own imo.

I've been researching ASTS on my new robinhood account (grandma gave me $5,000 for my 18th birthday to put towards my college fund) and the "Price / earnings ratio" says it's -81.31. Is that number supposed to be negative or is that a glitch? I'm still learning but I thought that number was supposed to be positive.

To be fair, at the time it might have been. ASTS went months well below 30 once it hit it the first time. Burned me so bad with calls, I still haven't regained my losses from it, and I have been holding shares since $3.05

It's honestly a joke that HOOD is in the s&p 500 and ASTS isn't. I know there's criteria and such but ASTS is just miles ahead of HOOD in terms of how well run and legitimate of a company it is.
